Batman finds Gordon dying, having an axe lodged in his upper body. Gordon is disclosed being infected, and he all of a sudden assaults Batman, but is subdued by Alfred's daughter, Julia. With Nightwing's help, Batman deduces that the Joker is utilizing a serum able to therapeutic him from deadly damage, and the virus has the serum's total inverse.
